Description
This original linocut print titled ‘Finding Sanctuary’ is a varied edition. It features the beautiful majestic cathedral overlooking the rooftops of the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire. The Cathedral has been a place of sanctuary for centuries. But when I visited, a family of peregrine falcons had decided that this ancient place of worship would make the perfect place to nest. I found this both wonderful and fun too, so I have woven the story of these beautiful birds into my design. It is a view of the cathedral from the castle walls.
This piece is hand carved and handprinted onto quality Ho Sho paper using environmentally friendly oil based inks.
Each element of the design for this piece derives from many sketches from my visit to Lincoln. You can choose this print with a sky of blue or choose the monochrome version where one can appreciate the quality and attention to detail in the design to the full.
The hand printed nature of the print means that each piece may vary slightly.
This piece is perfect for any room in your home and goes hand in hand with some of my other linocut prints of buildings to make a wonderful collection.
